Happy with how my outfeed table turned out, I decided to try the same technique for two outdoor projects. One was a round table top for my outdoor fire pit and the other was turning my large Kreg sewing bench into a kids’ art table. Both tops are 1.5″ thick – two sections of 3/4″ plywood laminated together – with the top and sides covered with Formica. I had been warned that Formica was only rated for indoor use, and sure enough, the Formica started to delaminate after about six months.
